I really loved working with Tami and Alex and was so looking forward to their big Polish wedding in Boerne, Texas! The day started with a relaxing few hours at the spa down the street and then it was off for a whirlwind of activity at St Peter the Apostle to get dressed for the big day. Tami went from laughter at her crazy Aunt in a tutu to tears as her daddy saw her for the first time as a bride, and remained gorgeous throughout everything. I loved capturing her solemn looks as she pondered the day ahead, her big smiles, and even the moment she had to wipe the tears away. The ceremony was gorgeous, with more tears and even a few private smiles that the couple shared. After they said their vows, the guests were treated with a little surprise as Tami and Alec released doves just outside the church doors. Adorable! The party went on with some delicious food and a fun band and included traditions like the Dajcie Dajcie, where a special group went around singing and banging on a pot for donations to the newlyweds, then poured the contents into the couple’s lap. At the end of the night, Alex carried his bride to their vintage car and they drove off to enjoy a bit of downtown San Antonio.
Tami and Alex also decided to do the Portrait Station at their reception, with a little twist! Instead of me supplying the backdrop, a friend volunteered to build her a custom “stage” that had a country saloon feel. Love the texture and it was a huge hit!
